<3 day.

So.

Like many people, I dislike the day of obligatory love (aka Valentine’s Day).  In my brain, it falls into the same category of stress/unnecessary pressure that New Year’s Eve, or even a birthday places on someone.  If you’re not with someone during those holidays, it just underscores your loneliness.  Or maybe your awesomeness, I don’t know your life haha.  For me, it is just an additional source of anxiety, for a person who can be prone to anxiousness.

running… in the rain… at least it’s towards brunch.

So my friend and I signed up for a 10 miler race, which will be run tomorrow.  We had such a lovely time the previous year, we thought LET’S GO, ROUND TWO.

Except, instead of 65 and sunny, it will be 45 (maybe) and rainy (definitely).  Kind of crushes the zen aspect.  Also, crushes my total excitement in wearing a new gear purchase, a pair of compression shorts from old navy:

For anyone who a) would like to wear shorts in the summer while running and b) has thigh chafing issues (dude, even if you’re “skinny” this is a real problem!), these are pretty much my new favorite thing.  I’ve tried the nike shorties, and while they are incredibly cute, for those first 15 min you’re running, before you start sweating, they do not stay in place.  Which makes for a very awkward run, between trying to constantly yank them down so you’re not flashing the south end of your rear, and trying not to eat it because your focus is elsewhere.  Oh Nike.  You’re sassy, but sometimes impractical.

So anyway, sucking it up and running 10 miles in the slog tomorrow.  At least there’s a free beer, and then brunch to be had after.  Everything is better with brunch.
